  1. Knowledge of Unix / Linux-based systems.
  2. Experience working with MySQL and Redis and writing simple queries to get data for debugging issues.
  3. Being able to creatively come up with solutions for various problems and implement them.
  4. An in-depth understanding of the different products and the ability to navigate through the code to debug and small fixes.
  5. Hands-on with any of the scripting languages like Bash, Python, PHP, and Ruby.
  6. Excellent analytical and logical thinking.
  7. Quick troubleshooting and diagnosing skills.
  8. Problem-solving and debugging skills.
  9. Ability to join the dots around multiple events occurring concurrently and spot patterns.
  10. Hardworking with a strong work ethic.

  1. Prior production support experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Logging and keeping records of various issues to help the team prioritize fixes and automation, along with measuring product quality.
  2. Documenting troubleshooting and problem resolution steps.
  3. Monitor alerting channels, analyze problems, diagnose, and do occasional code fixes with low to medium complexity.
  4. Taking ownership of technical issues and working closely with developers to resolve more complicated problems.
  5. Work closely with products and developers to enhance the quality of existing products.
  6. Resolving escalated customer complaints without the need for team lead intervention.
  7. Address urgent issues quickly, work within, and measure against customer SLAs.
  8. Write scripts (shell, python, ruby, PHP) and aggressively automate manual/repetitive tasks.
  9. Automate scripts/tasks for reporting and maintenance; and build anomaly detectors and alerting wherever applicable.
  10. Develop smaller complexity features/enhancements in existing products.
  11. Perform in-depth research and identify sources of production issues surrounding the application.
  12. Work closely with businesses in managing day-to-day issues, and resolving user queries.
  13. Perform daily health checks of the application, job schedules, and infrastructure supporting the application.
  14. Develop and facilitate monitoring systems to identify issues before they happen.
  15. Identify, develop, and design features to solve patterns of problems to stabilize production systems.
  16. Create accurate DB queries that will identify affected data and rectify them.
  17. Build a deep understanding of the domain.
